It's always an honour to be able to do a photoshoot at a stunning venue so we were thrilled when the opportunity recently arose to do a couple of days shooting at luxurious Dundas Castle in Edinburgh.
Dundas Castle is one of Scotland’s most beautiful and historic castles and one of the top 5 Star Exclusive Use venues in Britain.
Sit back and take a look at what can be done in this amazing venue.
The Croquet Room is an opulent yet intimate space that can seat up to 60 guests for a wedding breakfast. For our first look, we styled the room using a pretty combination of cream with pink accents.
Look two in the croquet room was one of classical elegance fusing stunning Cream Damask linen with hints of latte. This stunning look never goes out of style.
The third and final look in the Croquet Room was one of pure opulence in keeping with the splendour of the space. We used a long table dressed with luxurious St.Tropez table linen with gold and burgundy accents and double charger plates.
The Pavillion is the main function area at Dundas Castle for larger weddings and events. It's a fantastic space that can be transformed to create any look you want.
For our first look, we kept things very simple and on-trend using cream linen and gold accents.
We created a softer feel for the second look in the Pavillion using Cream Damask linen and chair covers against a show-stopping top table backdrop featuring luxury French chairs.
Making your way up the fairytale staircase within the medieval tower of the Auld Keep takes you to the magnificent Great Hall which, with its vaulted ceiling and original brickwork, creates the most romantic setting you can imagine for a wedding ceremony.
There's not much you want to do to a space like this so we just added some subtle touches to the Castle's own chairs. Some glass vases with candles for the aisle and a couple of candelabras with nice cream cloth on the registration table kept things nice and simple.
The Stag Chamber in the Auld Keep has hosted dinners for around 600 years and the mind truly boggles when considering who has been entertained in this ancient space.
Our first look fused classic black & tonal colours with hints of pewter glassware & wooden chargers to perfectly complement the room.
For the second look, we kept the black base but added some hints of purple tartan and some more elegant centrepieces.
The Old Armoury is a quirky little room that is ideal for a small drinks reception or even a whisky tasting to entertain your guests.
